Dear District Mangers and General Mangers
Hello fellow members of the Ay Gordo family. I know just as much as everyone that the economy is not what we are use to and is disturbing the way we normally run our operations. Even so our company must strive to keep our tradition of bringing out the excellence in tex-mex cuisine. Therefore I have implemented a new way to help us cope with this by using Information Systems to help smooth out everything. Every one of our stores will receive a new computer system. Instead of the old ways of writing orders by hand and maintaining our inventory by hand, I have devised a way which would make this all easier. I have recently got in contact with Radiant Systems which are known for their program Aloha which is used at prestige restaurants. This radical change will affect us in many ways. Instead of writing orders down and handing it to the cook we will enter it in the computer. The computer will have various choices of what to order from the menu and print out a legible receipt to the cooks telling them what to prepare. This will help prevent miscommunication and mishaps between everyone. This computer system will also help us managers keep proper inventory within the restaurant making sure our physical count and system count in check. Lastly a benefit of this system will be the one stop hub for everything. The system will list prices of items, recipes of items and will make closing the check a quick efficient process. Instead of calculating every check by hand the computer will keep a running tab of the whole check computing taxes and discounts if applicable. I have also scheduled a training session which is mandatory to further teach everyone how to use successful information technology. Even though some of us might be unwilling to undergo through this process I feel this whole predicament will further enhance the job’s efficiency to allocate more time to the customer.
