Dear District Managers and General Managers
Hello fellow members of the Ay Gordo family. I would like to congratulate us as a whole in the terms of success of making a mark in our community as one of the hottest upcoming restaurants within this city. Even though we proved statistics wrong defying the closing rate of 1st year restaurants we still have yet to achieve greatness. As we all know everyone is moving forward in the digital age and computers are seen everywhere in any company. The restaurant industry is also moving towards this direction. As most of you know we take orders in a fashion which is efficient to us by writing it by hand and giving it to the cook. Well in the world of restaurants integrated with information systems they put their orders in computers which print instructions to the cooks. This has also been seen to remove the miscommunication between server and chef. This is some technology I would like for us to further adapt to help the job go by more smoothly. Our restaurants within our community also use this to help track total sales, show which items are selling and which are not and keep time cards in check while at the same time providing us essential help upon everyday operations.

My only concern is - will it remove the "personalized touch" of the hospitality industry? Perhaps I visit some restaurants - because I like the natural ambiance, the "smiling waiter" or even to talk about games with the waiter for few minutes.
ReplyDeleteNevertheless, may be it will work as a complementary product along with the waiter. May be it will bring efficiency. May be we need something else (an innovative product) than the computer screen on table. How about a surface enhanced table with touch screen menu on the table itself !!
